They did offer to order them in, but that is not the point. These lamp holders have been installed as a result of a change to the L1 building regulations. I should, therefore be able to walk into any decent DIY store and buy them off the shelf. they vary in price anything from £7 inc p&p on Ebay to about £15.

sod it, I shall just change the lampholder!!! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

I absolutely agree with you.

It seems electricians have been instructed not to change the lampholders if requested to do so. Don't know what happens to them if they do!!

And the 'normal' energy saving ones, which fit normal sockets, and can be bought anywhere, are a fraction of the price.

I agree that once again tabloids simply blame global warming for everything.

Like the dinosaurs. They didn't manage to stop global warming either. Wink

IF Question Global Warming is real then we really should be trying to do something about it. Unfortunately this will have to be government enforced as we the people wont.

So this week Brown announces targets to cut CO2 by 60% by 2050. Followed a few days later by an annoucement that Heathrow is to have a 3rd runway that will increase the number of flights into the airport by about 220,000 a year. Confused Confused Confused

Have spoken to my friendly electrical wholesaler, who has given me two free lamps "to try out"

Now all I need to do is place an order with them Very Happy Would anyone like me to order them some BC3 lamps? they will probably cost no more than £5 each. Laughing Laughing

Those energy saving light bulbs are a load of rubbish, I was just as knackered after fitting them as I was when I fitted the ordinary ones.

Has anyone tracked down these 3 pin light bulbs yet? Apart from ordering online, cheapest I have found is about £7 each.
